What Does the CellTox™ Test Measure?
The CellTox™ Test measures malondialdehyde (MDA) in the urine. MDA is produced when fats within cell membranes become oxidized by free radicals.
Higher levels of MDA indicate increased lipid peroxidation and greater oxidative stress. The test uses a simple color comparison:
Lighter color = Lower oxidative stress
Darker color = Higher oxidative stress
This semi-quantitative test provides a quick assessment that can be performed in our office or in the comfort of your home.
How the Test Works
Taking the CellTox™ Test is simple:
Collect a urine sample in a clean container.
Use the supplied pipette to place 1 mL of urine into the test vial.
Wait 1–3 minutes.
Compare the color to the included color chart.
Record your score and review the results with your Functional Medicine provider at Egan Wellness & Med Spa.
